This wedding venue was packed. If you know Jeff and Kristin then you'd know why. Their style alone makes them stand out BUT what speaks most about these two is how gracious, loving and inviting they are. They are real and very down-to-earth type of people who love Jesus and love to have fun as well.
The wedding was fantastic. The wedding was held at Kelley Farm in Bonney Lake. It was full of chic decor, coordinated colors, and DIY handiwork that really added to the special day. There was a paper cup wall behind the wedding cake that was particularly awesome (see images below)! Overall the day was amazing because of Kristin and Jeff though. Their love for each other, their family and their friends was amazing. It was palatable throughout the day and it was inspiring to everyone there.
I recently asked Kristin about what her top five favorite things about being married and what her tips would be for the modern bride :) Here is the wisdom she shares from her experience!
1. Every night is an adult sleep over
2. Going through difficult times can still be painful but they feel manageable knowing you are going through them with someone who champions you along the way.
3. Having a person in your life that knows you more deeply and wholly than anyone else.
4. Having a personal chef, maid and house keeper (via jeff) and having a on call repair man, lawn service and spider killer (via me) 😂
5. I think our favorite thing is sharing our faith, dreams and passions together. When you get married you grow in new depths as a couple and there is nothing more special than growing more in love and closer to God in the process.
My advice for the modern bride is:
Look at Pinterest for inspiration but not imitation. Stay true to what you love and what will be special to you. Pinterest has great ideas but isn't always practical, manageable or even necessary! You want to look back on your day and feel like every piece of it had a little bit of you in it.
This is a day all about YOU as a couple. Don't worry about what food people will want, who will want to sit by who or what songs people will like and so on. The people who truly love you will only care that your big day was truly for you!
Practically I know this may not adhere to everyone and every circumstance, but the hardest balance is not comprising what you have always dreamed of on your wedding day due to finances but also not going into a great deal of debt. What worked so good for us was before we even started planning we made a list of what was SO important to us and what we didn't want to budge on. For us specifically it was a photographer who would provide our timeless memories (shout out to Jon and Moch) , a videographer who would capture the live moments, my dress (I knew if I looked and felt beautiful I would have the time of my life), and a venue that was beautiful and needed minimal decor to help cut back on the budget. That way when everything else come up along the way if it wasn't in the budget we didn't feel like we were settling because we had already decided what was important to us! ~ K
I had a really hard time narrowing down the images and this is the best I could do. There were just too many fun photos of their big day to pick from. Enjoy!
